#23 About Us

(BALi, KulturBahnhof Kassel)

The power of being, acting, and remembering together runs through the films of this program, making visible the supporting bonds that tie the individuals to the collective. Multiple perspectives of historical and actual facts give voice to other actors, other visions, and other affects to reinterpret the world beyond the dominant narratives. How to integrate the trauma and the ghosts of the past in new places and new relations? How can the community become a site of resistance to oppression and discrimination? (Maria Morata)

A former military barracks of the Wehrmacht now serves as a refugee camp for people from Ukraine. At passport control they are accused of having counterfeit papers, they end up in a nightmarish Kafkaesque detention from which it seems almost impossible to contact the outside world. With an impossible image, the work of Collectif Faire-Part resolves the paradox of telling a documentary story about an aspect of the contemporary border regime that is stubbornly hidden from the public gaze.… >>>

El polvo ya no nubla nuestros ojos (After The Dust)

A set of memories, a series of readings. After two hundred years as a nation, Peru has many forgotten struggles in different territories and in different times. On our bicentennial anniversary, this super 8mm film brings together activists and families and raises for a compilation of speeches coming from the smaller side of history.… >>>
