How many phone booths are still left in France? France Telecom, the national telecommunications company, has no idea, as no record was kept. The only certainty is that the last of these booths are currently disappearing. Floriane Devigne embarks on a journey of discovery, accompanying workers dismantling the booths, uncovering various forms of resistance to the privatization of telephony, and revealing surprising insights into the basic human need for communication and its gradual disappearance.
