The Good Years
Because his mother suffers from dementia and lives alone, photographer Michael, in his early 50s, moves back into his childhood bedroom. A new phase of life begins, shaped by change and slow decline. Filmmaker Reiner Riedler, also a photographer and Michael's longtime friend, follows this painful journey with great tenderness and patience, portraying a sensitive mother-son relationship between the unstoppable progression of an irreversible disease and the renewed courage to live – against all odds.
