POV is the abbreviation for “Point of View”, which in classical film analysis would mean a subjective camera perspective. In social media, however, POV: has a slightly different meaning and is better translate as “that is how I see it” . In this program, we follow the perspectives of the filmmakers, we see collages, samples, imitations and interpretations. Perspectives and stereotypes are mixed together, image follows image till we lose ourselves in the audiovisual stream. (Sarah Adam)

    Hardcore Fencing

In this collage Luke van Gelderen explores the increasing difficulty of orientation in a world characterized by endless streams of digital content. Found and AI-generated footage presents us an internet full of glamour, self-improvisation, desperation, anger and much more. Confronted with unbelievable scenes, absurd actions and extreme emotions, we are in danger of losing ourselves. A film like a wormhole where it will take a while to get out of.

    Pistoleras

The duel as a cinematic arrangement: shot, counter shot, extended time, violence and, of course, men. Music that sounds like a spaghetti Western and, a costume of jeans and cowboy hat evoke an entire cinematic genre. However, everything is different here: we do not follow the male gaze but are fascinated by the sophisticated game of mirrors. Natalia del mar Kašik entertains us by playing with our expectations, subverting all of the classical (visual) relationships and at the same time paying homage to the tradition of feminist art.

    I Go into the Day

“I hear the whales mating | I hear the neighbors | Making love in the open | I hear big human babies | Howling crying screaming | I comb my hair | I drink the tea | The time has come | I go into the day |”
Vivid colors, rhythmic lyrics, I GO INTO THE DAY moves between Dadaist poem, minimalist pop song, and everyday narrative and possesses the very own aesthetic of the artist Mariola Brillowska who fortunately constantly delights us with her enduring creativity.
