What if your own name had become a burden you desperately wanted to get rid of? That’s exactly how filmmaker Narges Kalhor feels, as she wants to erase the component "Shahid" (meaning "martyr") from her last name. But it's not just German bureaucracy that raises objections – her ancestors constantly hover around her, trying to stop her. Narges Kalhor’s award-winning film is a wild ride through various genres: sometimes precise documentary, at other times playful musical, and then again satire or meta-film. (Joachim Kurz)
