The death of his grandfather prompts the filmmaker to visit the family's former coffee plantation in Cachipay, Colombia, to research the Chagas disease, from which his grandfather suffered for years. The film not only deals with the appearance of the disease in the region, but also with the cultivation of monocultures, which, in addition to the disease, also results in environmental destruction and climate change and can be read as a direct continuation of the colonial history of the landscape, where working conditions are precarious and characterized by the exploitation of bodies.
