In Relation

(BALi, KulturBahnhof Kassel)

Beyond traditional relationship patterns, a fluid field of relational meanings is emerging. Plants, objects and digital interfaces blur the boundaries between proximity and distance, subject and object. A filigree fabric is created here that is constantly being negotiated, in constant motion. Like an invisible web of meaning and affect, it wraps itself around us, drawing us into a silent dialog that we barely notice the dynamics of – and yet we are guided by it. Connections that we are not consciously aware of are incessantly, invisibly and deeply intertwined. (David Zabel)

Dating in space seems to follow the same rules as dating on Earth. Apps are supposed to make meeting people easier, but in the end, personal, spontaneous encounters might still be the best way to build a connection.

Тяжело или легко? (hard or easy?)

Through reconnecting with family, this film reflects on how the roots of wounds impact one’s own beliefs and being. Themes such as migration, precarity, and insecurity accompany the journey. A stream of consciousness is combined with archival footage, through which Veronika expresses her own process and leads herself to clarity, sharing it with viewers along the way.

A place connected with fates, and those fates with the place.

    Ideen ohne Titel

In the short film Ideas Without a Title, I experimented with film shots and projector images that I had long wanted to try, aiming to create an aesthetically pleasing composition. A central moment of the project is the repetition of a shot I took years ago, but this time with animated flames.

    K-BOB STAR

K-BOB STAR is a project that turns an Asian woman, who is not part of the mainstream, into a virtual figure within mainstream pop culture and examines her life from various perspectives. Son Young-E, an older woman from South Korea (the artist’s grandmother), belongs to the marginalized, as she has never received recognition in Korean society. She was never involved in economic activities and dedicated her entire life to housework and domestic duties. In this project, she becomes a virtual pop star, completely detached from reality. In this world, Son Young-E takes on the rap name "Big Hand" and lends her voice to instrumental tracks of popular pop songs. The alter ego "Big Hand" reveals her life and values through unvarnished, direct lyrics.
